Gardener/Civil Engineering Operative

This is a full time vacancy within our Civil Engineering Maintenance Team at the PX Group St Fergus Gas Terminal, Aberdeenshire.

Job Purpose

To carry out grounds maintenance and general  handyman type duties on & around site.

 

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Carry out all gardening requirements around site, including seasonally required tasks e.g cutting and strimming grass during summer months.
  • Ensure machinery is kept in clean and working order and that routine checks and maintenance are undertaken.
  • Report any issues with machinery and ensure repairs are carried out in an acceptable timescale.
  • Winter call-outs to cover gritting and snow clearing from 1st November to 31st March on a rota basis.
  • Assist vermin control specialists during their visits.
  • Assist Chap Civils St Fergus maintenance team with general duties during not so busy grounds maintenance periods.

Driving licence

 

Competencies

Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge and experience of grass cutting using commercial horticultural machinery.
  • Able to use own initiative to undertake daily duties with minimal supervision.

 

 Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge and experience of routine maintenance of horticultural grass cutting machinery and other related equipment/machinery.
  • Previous basic practical gardening experience eg maintaining flower beds and shrubs.
  • Previous handyman experience.
  • Previous tractor operating experience.
