Estimating Administrator

This role would suit someone seeking an administration role within a small team.  It could also offer a good starting opportunity for someone who may wish to progress into a career as an Estimator.

Job Purpose

Provide administration support within the Estimating Department of the Construction and Civils Divisions. This will involve assisting with tender returns and general administration workload in the department.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Inputting bills of quantities into Causeway estimating software (software training will be provided).
  • Managing supply chain database.
  • Issuing sub contract and supplier enquiries.
  • Inputting quotes received into Causeway estimating software.
  • Co-ordination of tender queries.
  • Follow up calls/emails to supply chain.
  • Updating/producing tender registers and reports.
  • Produce handover documentation for successful projects.
  • Assist Estimators where applicable.

Qualifications

Essential

  • National 4/Standard Grade level 3 or above, or equivalent qualification in Maths and English.

Desirable

  • Business administration qualification.

  • Strong administration skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and to participate fully as a team member.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Computer Literacy – including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good spoken and written communication skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • Administration experience in a similar environment.
  • Experience working within the construction industry.
  • Experience working with a team in an organisation/business.

Working hours

Full time and part time applicants are invited:

Full time hours:  9am – 5pm (1 hour lunch) Monday-Friday – 35 hrs /week.

OR

Part time hours:  Minimum 20 hrs/week, working 5 days/week Monday – Friday.
