Shetland Islands Council have taken possession of the new Scalloway Fish Market. Constructed by CHAP Group, the new facility was completed some 3 months ahead of schedule.
We are thrilled to have been able to hand this project over to the local council and would like to thank those local contractors who were involved in the build. Contractors including EMN Plant Ltd, Delting Site Service Ltd and Arch Henderson assisted CHAP in ensuring the project ran ahead of programme.
The market doubles the floor space of the old unit ensuring that the fishing industry can continue to grow across the islands.
Speaking to Shetland News, Senior CHAP Project Manager Stewart Douglas took the opportunity to thank everyone involved in the construction which had been completed safely and “ahead of schedule and within budget”, which he called an “unprecedented achievement”.
