CHAP Group was represented by Andy McNair, Group Pre-construction Director and Area Construction Director Paul Matthew, with CHAP site team as well as key supply chain partners; JDR, Acreo, RC Fire, Martin Allan, IAS Scaffold and G2. This event celebrates the structural completion of the building and highlights CHAP Group’s commitment to enhancing the local landscape and providing high-quality living spaces for students.
The Douglas Street project will feature modern amenities, sustainable design, and spacious communal areas, catering to the needs of today’s students. Once completed, the development will offer 98 studios, promoting a vibrant and inclusive community.
“Today marks an important step forward for our Douglas Street project,” said Paul Matthew, Area Construction Director. “We are proud to contribute to Dundee’s growth and to create a welcoming environment for students. We thank everyone involved for their hard work and dedication in bringing this vision to life.”
Cllr Steven Rome, Dundee City Council convener of Fair Work, Economic Growth and Infrastructure, also added “I am impressed to see how work on this important development for the city has advanced. We are keen to ensure that Dundee continues to be an attractive place for students to come and study. Projects like this also provide a boost for local companies and help to deliver our vision of community wealth building.
“Construction of this purpose-built student accommodation should also have a positive impact on the wider Dundee housing market, especially around demand for tenemental properties.”
The Douglas Street accommodation is on track for completion in time for the 2025 student intake, making it a valuable addition to the city’s educational infrastructure.
