This project involved the initial downtakings of the building internals, stripping it back to its shell. Some structural issues were uncovered during this process, not uncommon for refurbishment jobs, however the project team worked alongside the council and CHAP engineers to develop a solution allowing the programme of works to resume and get back on track.

The building was then transformed with internal partitions forming the units and communal areas with 8 flats on the ground floor and 8 on the first, joinery and M&E fit out commenced creating the kitchen and living spaces within each flat. External works were also carried out to the front and the rear of the development with soft landscaping facing towards the Academy side and a car park with bin store and amenities to the rear.

The 16-unit project located on Dennyduff Road, was recently named ‘Bill Gibb Court’ honouring one of Fraserburgh Academy’s most famous alumni, with the fashion designer having worked with stars such as Twiggy and Bianca Jagger.
