Henry E Rae Community Centre
Aberdeen's New Community Hub


This project forms part of a complete regeneration of the Middlefield Area in Aberdeen.

The new centre is the largest of its kind in the city and provides a wide range of services for the local community including activities for children, youth work volunteering, training and work opportunities, early years childcare and education, adult learning and family support and community activities for adults, elderly and those with disabilities.

Works comprised the refurbishment, alterations and a new extension to the existing community centre with the new accommodation providing:

  • New pre-school nursery with places for 73 children
  • Sensory Rooms
  • Offices
  • Additional Flexible multi-purpose rooms
  • A 24 place after school club
  • Dedicated space for an out of hours “youth” project
  • NHS Accommodation
  • Cafe with seating area
