Dyce Drive, Kirkhill Industrial Estate

Duct Installation

This project consisted of 1.8km of duct installation, completed through the night to minimise impact on traffic in the busy Kirkhill Industrial Estate.

Essentially a straightforward duct installation contract made more challenging by having to work through the night, temporarily reinstating all works at the end of every shift to ensure the road was fully open for rush hour the following morning.

Permanent surfacing works were undertaken at weekends when traffic flows were lower.

Multiple water courses had to be crossed and a high volume of existing underground services meant the team had to overcome many challenging bottle necks whilst maintaining a tight programme.
